Main Focus Areas

  • Responsible for the management of the hospital’s entire facilities which includes all building and plant & equipment
  • Ensure compliance to statutory maintenance, OSH Act and R158
  • Management of asset management system, staff, budget, and projects
  • Support the strategic objectives of the hospital’s business plan through optimal management of facilities management and hospital engineering.

Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

  • Management all buildings and plant & equipment.
  • Management, training, and development of staff.
  • Manage the asset management system i.e., asset register, asset verification, scheduled inspections & preventative maintenance, and repairs.
  • Manage expenditure in line with approved budgets, Capex and Opex.
  • Environmental management
  • Management of contractors.
  • Stakeholder engagement i.e., communicate at all levels which includes Doctors, Patients, and Managers within the hospital.
  • Administration – accurate record keeping, and compilation of stats related to the Facilities Management.
  • Management of internal projects.
  • Competent Person appointment (GMR2)
  • Soft services management (Security, catering and sanitation)

Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

  • Minimum of a National Diploma (N5 or S4) (Electrical heavy current or Mechanical)
  • N5 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Diploma is preferable)
  • Proven Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Computerised management system experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in people management.
  • Relevant experience related to Facilities Management
  • Management of construction projects i.e., planning, budgeting, executing, and commissioning.
