Main Focus Areas

The Human Resource Officer is responsible for the provision of support to the HR Manager and Line Managers in the execution of human resource related activities. The incumbent will further be required to participate as a credible business partner by developing human resources solutions that add value to the business units' core strategic focus areas

Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

  • Proactively advise and educate managers and employees on how to address IR issues such as employee performance, employee conduct and inappropriate interpersonal actions to pre-empt and prevent escalations and formal actions.
  • Ensure achievement of transformation goals as set out by the Consultative Forum Committee
  • Maintain effective working relationships with local learning institutions and recruitment agencies to expand pool of candidates.
  • Foster a learning environment that encourages openness, information sharing, inquiry, and trust.
  • Ensure that all standard and non-standard personnel administration queries and work requests are resolved efficiently and effectively with the required SLA’s and turnaround times
  • Actively involved in all HR Strategic Projects
  • Ensure proper termination processes are followed and implement effective leave management strategies.
  • Coordinate Employment Equity and Skills Development Forums, of which you are an active member.
  • Monthly HR Reporting, including input into annual Employment Equity, WSP, and ATR reports.
  • Facilitate and promote employee engagement and feedback.
  • Administration of all employee benefits and wellness programmes for Hospital as well as monthly payroll administration
  • Assist with maintenance of HR Policies and Procedure.
  • Other general HR duties as and when required.

Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

  • A three-year Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or an equivalent NQF level 7 qualification
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years Human Resources Generalist experience, operating as a transformation or change agent
  • Good knowledge of Remuneration, Talent Management, Transformation, Recruitment and Selection, Learning and Development, Organizational Design and Reengineering, IR and performance Management
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to travel for meetings and workshops in and around the country
  • SAP, SAGE and Kronos time and attendance experience will be an advantage
