Main Focus Areas

The incumbent is responsible for process optimization and change management within the admissions, case management and bill auditing processes, through on-site hospital presence and operational support. Deployment to hospitals experiencing backlogs and/or poor performance. Training and induction for new staff. Identify account short payment/rejections in association with Credit Control and remediate/resolve.

Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

  • Ensure thorough knowledge of the business processes contributing to collections.
  • Analyze data trends relating to rejections and short payments and facilitate corrective/innovative processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide support to the Hospitals during periods of case management or bill auditing shortages.
  • Support will be physical assistance at the hospital.
  • Conduct visits to Hospitals to facilitate continuous learning and assessments.
  • Design and deliver training programs for staff involved in the admission, case management and billing processes.
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes, and ensure staff are trained accordingly.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the patient administration team.
  • Monitor claims short payments and rejections per Hospital and provide remedial training.
  • Conduct re-training of staff based on audit and assessment results, both online and onsite as required

Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

  • B Cur Degree/ Diploma Nursing
  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered / Professional nurse.
  • Post graduate qualifications advantageous.
  • Advanced ICD-10 and CPT®/CCSA experience/certification
  • SAP-ISH
  • Patient administrative processes within the private healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of principles of Alternative Reimbursement Models
  • Proven leadership and/or people management experience.
