The patient Services Manager is responsible for the management of the patient services function at Ahmed Kathrada and Daxina The patient services function includes admission activities, daily case management, clinical coding and billings. The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the billings is valid, accurate and complete, and the billings of hospital accounts with minimal rejections and non-payment.
•The role requires sound people management skills, understanding of business process and system and experience in a private hospital environment.
•Determine and implement the strategy for patient services, the strategy must include measures that support the credit control function, the standardization of process and an effective internal control environment.
•Ensure that the patient services policy and procedures are updates, monitor compliance levels by hospitals, report non-compliance and implement remedial control.
•Improve the level of skills and competencies via appropriate performance management measure and recruitment.
•Provide Line Managers & Exco members reports and feedback on status of patient services within the Hospital.•Provide Line Managers & Exco members reports and feedback on status of patient services within the Hospital.
•Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with funders/administrators, service providers and other key role players
•Grade 12 or equivalent NQ•Degree or equivalent NQF 7 Qualification will be advantageousF 4 Qualification
•Nursing diploma or degree will be an advantage
•Minimum of 10 years experience in the private healthcare industry, specifically in the Patient services / Clinical environment
•Minimum of 5 years management experience.
•Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and medical terminology, CPT/ICD coding, technical and clinical concepts
•Understanding of basic financial principles
•Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
•Advanced computer literacy & SAP experience
•Drivers license and ability to travel to Head office
•SAP experience preferable
