A vacancy exists for a Therapy Manager within the Acute Rehabilitation Unit. The successful candidate will report to the Rehabilitation Practice Manager.

Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

Management and coordination of an interdisciplinary therapy team:
  • Recruitment and orientation of all therapy members
  • Ongoing training and development of team and individuals in delivering high quality rehabilitation services and managing recording and documentation
  • Mentorship and guidance of therapy team members in compliance with Lenmed administrative and service-delivery systems
  • Management of regular team meetings and outcomes
  Co-ordination of Therapy Service planning, development and delivery:
  • High quality interdisciplinary therapy service planning for holistic rehabilitation of orthopaedic, neurological, post-surgical and poly-trauma patients
  • Delivery of comprehensive admission, progress and discharge reports for the service
  • Equipment provision and resource planning for therapy services
  • Creation of an environment conducive to interdisciplinary efficiency, staff development and team cohesion
  • Drive unit-specific best operating practice for outcomes-based service and implementation of safe treatment environment and systems
  • Participation in hospital-specific marketing initiatives
  • Financial management of therapy component of service delivery
  • Implementation of quality improvement initiatives
  Promotion of customer satisfaction:
  • Monitoring of patient satisfaction, and management of customer complaints
  • Identification of safety risks and trends in the unit and implementation of corrective action where necessary
  • Coordination of quality round implementation and clinical practice audits to monitor intervention
  Participation in Acute Rehabilitation Management and Governance team:
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders through ongoing communication and feedback.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership in respect of Lenmed values, operating model, and image of the professions to ensure continued and improved productivity.

Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

  • A relevant rehabilitation-related health professional qualification
  • Registration with the relevant statutory Health Professional organisation
  • In good standing with statutory body and all applicable health care legislations
  • Compulsory BLS certification
  • Clinical rehabilitation expertise within therapy (3-5 years of clinical experience in a relevant environment)
  • Team and relevant service management experience would be an advantage.
  • An intermediate level of proficiency in the use of MS Office products is essential
